Yemeni Government Directs To Expedite The Operation Of Al-Mokha International Airport

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

During a meeting held in the interim capital, Aden, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak directed authorities to expedite the completion of technical and logistical procedures necessary for the official launch of Mokha International Airport, including the reception of both domestic and international commercial flights.

The meeting, attended by several officials, reviewed the latest preparations related to the airport’s infrastructure, technical equipment, and support services. Discussions also included coordination with the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, and Yemen Airways to ensure the launch of the first commercial flight as soon as possible.

Prime Minister bin Mubarak reaffirmed the government’s support for the development of airports in liberated areas and the creation of strategic partnerships to enhance their efficiency, benefiting both commercial and civilian travel.

For their part, Taiz Deputy Governor Rashad Al-Akhali, Aviation Affairs Advisor to the Presidential Leadership Council Captain Nabil Dhefallah, and Mokha Airport Director Khaled Abdul Latif confirmed the airport’s full readiness to receive flights with high efficiency.

This directive is part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen air transport infrastructure and facilitate the movement of passengers and trade between Yemen and the rest of the world, after years of severe disruption and airport closures caused by the war and the Houthi takeover.
