Yemeni President Urges International Community to Confront Houthis, Cut Iranian Support

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Yemeni President Rashad Al-Alimi, Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Tuesday called for stronger international action to confront the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia. He urged the global community to increase pressure on Tehran and put an end to its support for the group.
The remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from the European Parliament led by David McAllister, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, according to Yemen’s official news agency.
President Al-Alimi emphasized the importance of designating the Houthis as a persistent threat to regional and global security.
He also warned of growing collaboration between the Houthis and terrorist organizations in the Horn of Africa, stressing that the stability of the Red Sea begins with its southern shores.
Al-Alimi asserted that Iran has no intention of abandoning its destructive policies, describing ongoing nuclear negotiations as mere stalling tactics.
He called on the international community to support the Yemeni government in its efforts to fully restore control over its territory.
