Israeli media reported that the U.S. THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) system intercepted the missile that was launched from Yemen toward Israel.
Earlier on Sunday, sirens sounded across several areas in central Israel following the interception of a missile from Yemen.
In a statement, the Israeli occupation army said: “Following the activation of sirens a short while ago in several areas within the country, missiles were likely launched from Yemeni territory. We attempted interceptions, and the results are under review. The sirens were activated in accordance with established policy.”
Later, it was confirmed after an investigation that a single missile had been launched from Yemen.
The private Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that sirens were heard in several central regions, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, due to the interception of a missile launched by the Houthis from Yemen.
Meanwhile, Israel’s public broadcasting authority reported that sirens sounded in Jerusalem and the greater Tel Aviv area, without initially specifying the cause.
On April 6, The Times of Israel reported that the US had transferred a second THAAD missile defense battery to Israel.
The Hebrew-language newspaper stated that the U.S. reinforcement of missile defense systems in Israel comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Stop referring to Israel as the occupier . The true occupier in Middle East is the Iranian regime and its terrorist proxies and puppets, including the Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah and Assad.
