Al-Alimi Urges Yemeni Diplomats To Enhance International Backing In The Fight Against The Houthis

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi emphasized the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to secure comprehensive international support in confronting the Houthi group, restoring state institutions, and ending the coup.

His remarks came during a virtual meeting with heads of diplomatic missions and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended by Foreign Minister Shaea Al-Zandani. Al-Alimi praised the performance of Yemeni diplomatic missions in defending the country’s interests and strengthening its legal standing in international forums.

The meeting addressed the latest domestic developments and the challenges Yemen is facing, as well as opportunities to improve living conditions and accelerate the process of state restoration.

Al-Alimi described the current stage as “critical,” stating that Yemeni diplomacy plays a pivotal role in gaining international support for what he called the “battle for liberation” awaited by the people.

He urged ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions to stay aligned with ongoing developments and to confront the Houthis’ actions and violations. He stressed that the group poses a continuous threat to regional and international security and is not a genuine peace project as it claims.

Al-Alimi also noted that the Yemeni government is working to enhance its readiness to receive humanitarian aid and facilitate commercial shipping. He called for exposing Houthi violations and revealing their destructive nature to the international community.
