The Houthi group has escalated its attacks over the past two days, targeting positions belonging to the Yemeni army with artillery shelling on several fronts in Taiz Governorate (southwest of the country).
Taiz Military Axis Center confirmed that the army’s artillery responded to the sources of fire, recording renewed clashes in a number of locations.
Al-Ahtoub front in Jabal Habashi district also witnessed renewed clashes between the National Army forces and Houthi militia elements after a failed infiltration attempt by the Houthis towards army positions.
The clashes resulted in the death of two Houthi members and the destruction of new fortifications that they had recently established.
The army’s artillery also targeted Houthi positions on the Al-Kadha front in the governorate’s western countryside, in direct response to the heavy artillery shelling launched by the Houthi group towards army positions in Al-Dhabab area.
Confrontations continue between the National Army and the Houthis on several fronts in Taiz Governorate, as the Yemeni army seeks to repel Houthi attacks and maintain its positions.
