U.S. Defense Secretary Warns Houthis of “Worse Days Ahead”

Yemen Monitor / Washington / Exclusive:
The U.S. Secretary of Defense vowed on Monday to intensify strikes against the Houthis in the coming days, as the US air campaign against the Yemeni armed group enters its fourth week.
Pete Hegseth stated, “We have many options and pressure tools to impose on the Houthis and Iran.”
He added, “We possess various means to apply pressure on the Houthis and their Iranian backers.”
The Trump administration launched a wide-scale military campaign against the Houthis in Yemen starting on March 15, calling it a preemptive response to the group’s continued attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea. The campaign has included intensive airstrikes targeting key Houthi sites such as weapons caches, command centers, and military leaders.
However, the campaign has faced major challenges, including limited success in destroying the Houthis’ underground weapons arsenal, which remains difficult to detect and eliminate.
