The armed Houthi group said early Saturday morning that it had shot down a US reconnaissance aircraft over Saada Governorate, the movement’s stronghold in northern Yemen.
The Houthis’ military spokesperson confirmed that a single drone was launched towards “Tel Aviv,” and Israel said it intercepted it hours earlier coming “from the east.”
The spokesperson said in a televised address that the Houthis shot down a Giant Shark F360 reconnaissance aircraft.
The Houthi claim has not been verified by an independent source.
