Yemeni Minister: 70 Houthis Killed in US Raid in Western Yemen

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
A minister in the Yemeni government announced on Friday the killing of 70 Houthi members in a US raid that targeted Al-Fazah area, south of the city of Hodeidah, in western Yemen.
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, said that a US attack targeted a gathering of the Houthi militia in Al-Fazah area with a precise airstrike.
Al-Eryani explained that the US attack thwarted a militia plot that aimed to launch terrorist attacks against commercial ships and oil tankers in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden.
He pointed out that: “More details about this will be published in the coming days.”
Earlier, media affiliated with the group said that US bombing targeted two areas in Saada, northern Yemen, while Israeli media reported that US air defenses intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it reached “Israel.”
Yesterday, Thursday, Houthi-affiliated media reported that US warplanes launched a series of raids on the governorates of Saada, Hodeidah, and Sana’a.
These sources reported that the raids targeted the east and southeast of Saada city with 17 strikes in two waves.
Late Thursday evening, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that US air defenses intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it reached “Israel.”
US President Donald Trump announced on March 15 that he had ordered his forces to launch a “major offensive” against the Houthi group in Yemen, before threatening to “completely eliminate the Houthis.”
