Houthis Announce Downing of a U.S. Drone in Eastern Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Sana’a / Special:
The Houthi armed group announced at midnight on Monday/Tuesday that it had shot down a U.S. drone in eastern Yemen.
The group’s military spokesperson stated that its air defenses had downed an MQ-9 U.S. drone while it was flying over Marib province, claiming that this was the 16th drone the group had shot down.
This comes hours after the U.S. President stated that the campaign against the Houthis would cease once navigation in the Red Sea becomes safe. Meanwhile, Kamaran Island in Al-Hudaydah province was subjected to airstrikes.
Since mid-last month (March 15), U.S. aircraft have been carrying out airstrikes on Houthi-controlled Yemeni provinces, stating that they target Houthi bases and military leaders.
