US Airstrikes Target Houthi-Controlled Yemeni Island

The US launched new airstrikes on a Yemeni island in the Red Sea under Houthi control on Monday evening, according to sources.

The sources reported that at least two airstrikes targeted Kamaran Island, which belongs to Hodeidah province in western Yemen.

In the capital Sana’a residents  heard a large explosion , believed to be an airstrike. Houthi media has not commented on the explosion or its location.

Since mid-March, the US has been conducting airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas, claiming to target the group’s military capabilities used in attacks on maritime navigation and to eliminate Houthi military leaders involved in these operations.
