Houthi Media: U.S. Airstrikes Target Sana’a and Saada

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Houthi armed group announced on Sunday evening that new U.S. airstrikes targeted northern Sana’a, the Yemeni capital, and Saada province, the stronghold of the Iran-backed group’s leader.

The Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV reported briefly that “U.S. aggression targeted the Jadar area in Bani Al-Harith district, north of Sanaa, with four airstrikes.”

Shortly before, residents reported intense U.S. airstrikes shaking the Saref area of Bani Hushaish, northeast of Sana’a.

According to Houthi statements issued from Saturday evening to Sunday evening, the U.S. military carried out multiple rounds of airstrikes on Sana’a and Saada province.

Meanwhile, U.S. media outlets reported that the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier group left the U.S. military base in Guam on Friday and was heading to the Middle East, where it would join the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier currently stationed in the Red Sea.

Early Sunday, the Houthis claimed they had “successfully” targeted Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel with a ballistic missile “in support of the Palestinian people.” However, Israel stated that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it entered its airspace, following the activation of air raid sirens in Jerusalem and the greater Tel Aviv area.

Additionally, the Houthis claimed they had engaged in clashes with U.S. naval vessels, including the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, using cruise missiles and drones over the past 24 hours. The U.S. military confirmed that all attacks had been repelled.
