New US Airstrikes on Saada, Houthi Stronghold

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Houthi media reported that the US targeted Saada Governorate in northern Yemen on Tuesday with at least 5 airstrikes.

The group’s Al-Masirah channel stated on Tuesday that “American warplanes targeted Sahar district in Saada Governorate with two airstrikes, before announcing again the targeting of the same district with three airstrikes in the evening.”

The channel did not provide details about the targets of the airstrikes, nor the human casualties or material damage resulting from them.

In recent days, US aircraft have intensified their airstrikes on various areas of Saada Governorate, which is considered the main stronghold of the leader of the armed Houthi group.

Last Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered his country’s army to launch a “major offensive” against the group in Yemen in response to its attacks in the Red Sea and international waters.
