Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Taiz Governorate, in southwestern Yemen, recorded more than 50,000 cases of malaria in 2024, an increase of 26% compared to the previous year.
This rise comes amid deteriorating health conditions in the country due to the ongoing ten-year war, forcing many residents to rely on international medical aid.
The health sector in Taiz suffers from a severe lack of funding, which exacerbates the challenges of combating diseases like malaria.
Taiz Governorate, one of the most densely populated areas in Yemen, is witnessing a significant deterioration in its health situation as a result of the continued armed conflict for ten years.
