A Saudi Project Revives the Historic Seiyun Palace

The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has launched a project to restore the historic Seiyun Palace in Hadhramaut Governorate.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support Yemen’s cultural heritage, protect it, and preserve the country’s cultural identity.

According to Saudi media, the restoration project of Seiyun Palace in Hadhramaut aims to protect it as a landmark and cultural center. The project is funded by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and implemented by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Culture, Yemen’s General Authority for Antiquities and Museums, and with logistical and technical support from Yemen’s Social Fund for Development.

Seiyun Palace is considered one of the most prominent cultural landmarks in Wadi Hadhramaut. It is over 500 years old and is classified as one of the largest mud-brick palaces in the world. The palace consists of seven floors and 45 rooms, making it a unique cultural and heritage center.
