Arab League, Chaired by Yemen, Calls for International Action to Stop Israeli Aggression on Gaza

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The Republic of Yemen chaired an extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States to discuss Arab and international action to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

The Deputy Acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League, Ambassador Najwa Al-Serri, stated that “Israel” violated international and humanitarian law and committed horrific crimes against unarmed civilians.

Al-Serri explained that “Israel” aims to achieve the goals of the war it previously declared, in clear disregard for the agreements it signed and the efforts made by mediators to reach a ceasefire last January.

She said, “The world has witnessed Israel committing the most heinous crimes against unarmed civilians, in defiance of the international system and human conscience. After two months of ceasefire, Israel resumes its arrogance and criminality, and declares that its new attack came according to a pre-planned scheme, in disregard for the agreements it signed.”

She stressed that the policy of killing, displacement, and starvation pursued by Israel is a response to the Cairo statement and the Gaza reconstruction plan, and evidence of its rejection of the Arab Peace Initiative. The attacks on Lebanon and Syria are further evidence of Israel’s disregard for the requirements of peace.”

She called for all efforts to be made to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people, and to urgently deliver food and medical aid to Gaza.
