Symposium in Marib Calls for Strengthening Media Role in Supporting State Restoration

A political symposium was held in Marib to discuss the role of media in enhancing national awareness and supporting the path to state restoration.

The symposium, organized by The Mokha Center for Strategic Studies and the Red Sea Center for Political and Security Studies, called for strengthening communication between Yemeni and international media institutions and delivering professional content that reflects the aspirations of Yemenis to gain international support.

In his speech, Ateq Jarallah, head of the Mokha Center, emphasized the need for stronger ties between Yemeni and global media outlets. He stressed the importance of producing professional content that accurately represents the Yemeni people’s aspirations for securing international backing.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Al-Walis Buhibeh, head of the Red Sea Center, highlighted the necessity of countering Houthi misinformation and unifying media discourse to expose the violations committed by the group.

Deputy Minister of Information, Ahmed Rabie, spoke about the role of media in building a stable future for Yemen post-war, noting that media serves as a parallel front to the military battle.

For his part, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Ashwal urged support for the armed forces and the exposure of Houthi crimes through media platforms.

The symposium featured three research papers:

Mohammed Al-Jamaai discussed the challenges facing national media.

Abdullah Al-Munifi addressed the role of social media in shaping public opinion.

Ateq Jarallah analyzed the weakness of Yemeni media discourse on the international stage.

The event concluded with a call to develop and strengthen national media to support the battle against the Iran-backed Houthi militia, emphasizing its crucial impact on Yemen’s present and future.
