MASAM Announces Removal of 548 Mines and Unexploded Ordnance in Yemen Within a Week

The operations room of the MASAM project announced that its teams removed 548 mines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices last week, bringing the total removed since the beginning of March to 1,606.

In a statement, MASAM operations said that project teams removed 515 unexploded ordnance and 25 anti-tank mines last week. Thus, MASAM teams have removed 1,549 unexploded ordnance and 49 anti-tank mines in March.

The statement mentioned that MASAM teams have managed to clear 212,907 square meters of Yemeni land since the beginning of this month until the 14th.

MASAM teams have managed to clear 65,875,624 square meters of Yemeni land since the project’s launch at the end of June 2018 until now.
