Houthis Leader: We Will Attack U.S. Ships in the Red Sea

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the group bearing his name, said on Sunday that his movement would attack U.S. ships in the Red Sea.
Al-Houthi spoke on television following the U.S. strikes on Yemen the previous night.
“If they continue their aggression, we will continue to escalate,” he said.
He added that the Houthis had decided to threaten Israeli ships to increase pressure on Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
U.S. officials have stated that the US airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen will continue indefinitely after the first round on Saturday killed at least 31 people and injured up to 100 others.
The strikes, which U.S. officials claim are intended to punish the Houthis for their attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea, mark the first use of US military force in the region since Trump took office in January.
