Houthis Announce Targeting of US Aircraft Carrier

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The Houthi military spokesman announced today, Sunday, that the group’s forces targeted the US aircraft carrier “USS Harry Truman” with 18 missiles and drones.

The spokesman explained in a brief statement that the Houthi attack came after the US air force carried out more than 47 airstrikes on several Yemeni governorates, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.

The Houthi spokesman confirmed that they “will not hesitate to target any naval vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas” if the raids continue.

Washington has not commented on the Houthi claims to the time of this news writing.

This attack is considered the first response from the Houthis to the US airstrikes that targeted the capital Sana’a, Saada, and Al-Bayda last Saturday.

According to Houthi media, the US airstrikes, in an initial toll, resulted in the death of 32 people and the injury of more than 100 others, most of them women and children.
