Houthis: 18 Killed and Injured in U.S. Airstrikes on Sana’a

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Houthi armed group announced on Saturday evening that U.S. airstrikes resulted in the death and injury of 18 people in an initial toll of the attacks.

The Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health stated in a statement that “the airstrikes led to the death of nine people and the injury of nine others, most of them in critical condition, in an initial toll of the strikes.”

The ministry claimed that “the U.S.-British airstrikes targeted a residential neighborhood in the Shu’aub district of the capital, Sana’a.”

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the launch of a large-scale military operation against the Houthis in response to their continued attacks in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

In a strongly worded speech, Trump stated that this operation aims to counter acts of piracy and violence that have targeted US maritime shipping and affected global maritime security.

Trump issued a stern warning to the Houthis, saying: “Your time is up. You must stop your attacks, or you will face a devastating response like nothing you have seen before.”
