The former Minister of Education in Yemen and member of the Shura Council, Fadl Ali Abu Ghanem, passed away on Friday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Sources close to Abu Ghanem’s family said that the former minister and member of the Shura Council died in a hospital in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
For its part, the Yemeni Shura Council praised the deceased’s contributions to the development of the education sector in Yemen, where he supervised many educational projects and contributed to the development of educational strategies that left an impact on the academic system.
The council added that he was an opponent of the coup until his death, and contributed to strengthening legislative work through his position in Al-Shura Council.
For his part, the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, sent his condolences and sympathy to Abu Ghanem’s family on the passing of the prominent academic and national figure, Fadl Ali Abu Ghanem.
President Al-Alimi praised Abu Ghanem’s great contributions to serving the nation through his academic, political, administrative, and social activities, and his assumption of many academic and leadership positions, the most prominent of which was the position of Minister of Education and member of Al-Shura Council, noting his record as a researcher and lecturer who enriched the Yemeni library with many publications, books, and educational, political, and social studies.
