Houthis Leader: Enforcement of Ship Transit Ban “Has Already Begun”

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi announced that his group’s decision to ban navigation through the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea has come into effect.
He added, “Any Israeli ship passing through the designated operational zone will be targeted. This is a practical step and a necessary stance.”
Al-Houthi further stated, “The enemy’s actions in blocking aid from entering Gaza and closing border crossings are aimed at starving the Palestinian people in Gaza.”
He also claimed that “Trump administration officials are keen to take more aggressive measures than those taken by the Biden administration before them.”
On Wednesday, the Houthis issued a statement declaring that, after the expiration of a four-day deadline to allow aid into Gaza, they had decided to resume the ban on all Israeli ships crossing the designated operational areas in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden.”
