United Nations: 17 Million People Facing Hunger in Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has warned of a severe humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where over 17 million people are suffering from acute food insecurity.

This dire situation threatens millions of lives, pushing them to the brink of famine.

According to IOM reports, the food crisis is worsening due to ongoing conflict, extreme poverty, and economic deterioration.

People are experiencing severe shortages of food and clean water, exacerbating their suffering and further weakening their already fragile health conditions.

The organization stressed the urgent need for immediate humanitarian aid to save lives.

IOM also called on the international community to increase funding and provide essential support to organizations working in Yemen to alleviate the crisis.

Furthermore, the organization emphasized the importance of finding swift and lasting political solutions to the conflict in Yemen to ensure humanitarian stability and improve living conditions for the population.
