Measles Cases Surge in Taiz Governorate

Health authorities in Taiz Governorate, southwestern Yemen, have announced the registration of 382 measles cases since the beginning of 2025, raising concerns about the spread of the disease.
According to statistics issued by the governorate’s health ministry office, among the registered cases, 83 were laboratory-confirmed, in addition to two deaths among children.
These figures indicate an outbreak of measles in Taiz, which is considered the most populous governorate in the country.
Measles is a highly contagious disease that can lead to serious complications, necessitating urgent measures to curb its spread and protect children.
