The Sultanate of Oman has officially lifted the ban on livestock imports from Yemen, according to a new ministerial decision issued by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
This decision comes following a recommendation from the competent veterinary authority and will take effect starting the day after its publication in the official gazette.
Ministerial Decision No. 51/2025 cancels the previous ban stipulated in Ministerial Decision No. 86/2000.
The ministry confirmed that the import of live animals from Yemen will be subject to the conditions specified in the annex attached to the new decision.
The new decision is based on the Veterinary Quarantine Law issued by Royal Decree No. 45/2004 and its implementing regulations issued by Ministerial Decision No. 107/2008.
