Amir Ghaleb: I Chose Kuwait as US Ambassador After Careful Consideration and Appreciation for Deep Relations

Amir Ghaleb, the new US ambassador of Yemeni origin to Kuwait, expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to US President Donald Trump for trusting him with the appointment as US ambassador to the State of Kuwait.

In his statements on “Facebook” platform, he said: “I look forward to representing my great country and strengthening bilateral relations between the US and Kuwait.”

Ghaleb, who had three options: a presidential advisory position in the White House, Deputy Secretary of State, or ambassador to the country of his choice, chose Kuwait after careful consideration and a deeply personal decision.

He added: “I chose Kuwait from among the many countries available to me, in appreciation of our deep and future relations with this ancient country.”

Ghaleb thanked his city’s community for their continuous support since the beginning of his journey, pointing out that he spent about ten years in community service in the medical field before his passion for political work turned to his candidacy for the position of mayor of the city, which he held for three years, where he achieved remarkable success thanks to community support.

He also expressed his gratitude to the US President’s advisor for Middle East affairs, Dr. Mosaad Boulos, for his continuous support and strong relations with the Arab American community and the US administration led by President Trump.

Ghaleb sent a message of loyalty and fidelity to his community, stressing that he will always remain committed to lofty values ​​and principles, and that he will be at the service of people, no matter the distances.

Amir Ghaleb holds the position of mayor of the city of Hamtramck in the state of Michigan, of Yemeni Muslim origins (46 years old), immigrated to the US in 1997, and worked in a factory for plastic components for cars, before completing his studies to join medical school.

He was also a member of the Democratic Party before joining the “uncommitted” category to vote for former President Joe Biden in the 2024 US presidential election, then announced his support for Trump in the elections.
