US: We Will Not Tolerate Any Country Dealing with the Houthis

Yemen Monitor / Riyadh / Exclusive:
The U.S. Embassy to Yemen stated on Monday that it will not tolerate any country dealing with the Houthis, just hours after the U.S. Secretary of State announced the implementation of the designation of the Yemeni group as a terrorist organization.
In a statement, the embassy said: “The US will not tolerate any country dealing with terrorist organizations like the Houthis under the pretext of conducting legitimate international business.”
The action taken by the State Department today demonstrates the Trump administration’s commitment to protecting our national security interests, the safety of the American people, and U.S. national security.
On Tuesday, the US designated the Iran-backed Houthi group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, in compliance with an order issued by President Donald Trump in January.
The Houthis control parts of Yemen, including the capital, Sana’a, and have launched missile and drone attacks on Israel since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023.
They have also repeatedly targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden — vital waterways for global trade.
