Yemeni Army Announces Foiling Fiercest Houthi Offensive Operation in Southern Marib

The Yemeni army announced the thwarting of the fiercest Houthi offensive operations on the fronts of Marib Governorate, east of Sana’a.
A military source said that the armed group pushed dozens of its elements towards military positions on the southern front of Marib Governorate.
He confirmed that the infiltration of the Houthi elements coincided with heavy shelling using artillery, mortars, RPGs, and Shiki machine guns, and then the enemy provided fire cover with all types of calibers from several locations.
He added that the shelling and targeting operations continued for about three hours, stressing that the army forces were able to thwart the infiltration operation and respond to the sources of fire with high efficiency.
He pointed out that the army forces dealt with the hostile attack with all types of heavy, medium and light weapons, forced the infiltrating elements to retreat, and inflicted losses in lives and equipment on the militia.
According to the source, two soldiers were killed and others were injured while repelling the attack of the terrorist Houthi militia.
He stressed that the armed forces throughout the theater of operations are at the highest levels of readiness to deal with any hostile movements in accordance with the instructions of the military command.
