A Rights Association Calls for the Release of All Abductees in Houthi-Controlled Areas

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Abductees’ Mothers Association condemned, on Wednesday, the ongoing violations against civilians in Houthi-controlled areas.

The association said in a statement: “Our sorrows grow with every sad news we receive about the death of one of the abductees’ relatives, while their children remain behind bars without any guilt.”

It said: “We extend our condolences to the abductee held by the Houthi group, ‘Rabab Al-Madwahi,’ one of the employees of international organizations in Yemen, and her entire family, for the death of her mother, who was saddened and grieved by her daughter’s detention and enforced disappearance.”

It stressed that the dire reality experienced by the abductees and their families cannot lead to a real peace in Yemen except by releasing all the abductees, forcibly disappeared persons, and detainees from all places of detention by all parties.

It said: “We condemn the ongoing violations against civilians, and we denounce the shameful silence by international and local bodies alike for everything that is happening today against the abductees and their families.”

It appealed for an end to all this human suffering, and for pressure on the violating parties and the imposition of the most severe legal penalties to prevent further abductions and raids, and to force them to comply with the peace plans that would release the abductees.
