MASAM Removes 536 Mines from Yemen in One Week

The operations room of the MASAM project for mine clearance announced on Monday that the project team succeeded last week in removing 536 mines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices, bringing the total number removed since the beginning of February to 1,250 mines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices.
In a statement, it said that the project teams removed 478 unexploded ordnance and 48 anti-tank mines during the past week. Thus, the “MASAM” teams have removed 1,162 unexploded ordnance and 78 anti-tank mines since the beginning of February, stressing that “MASAM” teams were able to clear 477,140 square meters of Yemeni land during the past month.
It is worth mentioning that the “MASAM” teams, since the launch of the project at the end of June 2018 until now, have been able to clear 65,168,777 square meters of Yemeni land.
