Yemen Monitor/Taiz + Marib/Special:

The governorates of Marib and Taiz witnessed ceremonies to light the flame of the 14th anniversary of the February 11th Revolution on the eve of the anniversary.

In the city of Taiz (central Yemen), thousands of citizens gathered, raising national flags in the middle of Jamal Street in the city center, where the torch was lit amidst chants expressing the continuation of the revolution that began on February 11, 2011.

The Cairo Citadel was adorned with a fireworks display in celebration of the February anniversary.

In addition, the Popular Resistance Council in Taiz Governorate called for a large public gathering in a mass march to be launched at nine o’clock on Tuesday morning, February 11, to commemorate the fourteenth anniversary of the outbreak of the February 11 revolution, under the slogan “February of Liberation and Restoration of the State,” noting that the gathering points in Jamal Street are the Al-Awadhi roundabout and the Wadi al-Qadi roundabout.

In the city of Marib (east), the youth of the February Revolution celebrated by lighting the torch in the city center.

The 14th anniversary of the peaceful February 11 revolution comes amid the continuation of the war in Yemen since the Houthis began their coup against the transitional phase in September 2014.
