Egyptian and Yemeni Doctors Participate in Free Neurosurgery Medical Camp in Aden

The Deputy Minister of Health for the Population Sector, Salem Al-Shabahi, along with the Director General of the Health Office in Aden Governorate, Ahmed Al-Bishi, inaugurated on Saturday the second camp for the treatment of diseases of the brain, nerves, and spine, at the Aden Cooperative Charitable Hospital.

The camp, organized by the Gulf and Aden Authority for Development and Humanitarian Services, aims to provide medical and therapeutic services to patients with brain, nerve, and spinal cord conditions. Services include surgeries, examinations, medical tests, x-rays, and medications for indigent patients, all free of charge.

During the inauguration, Al-Shabahi emphasized the importance of such specialized medical camps and their role in alleviating the suffering of patients and providing them with the necessary medical care free of charge, thus reducing the exorbitant costs of treatment for them and their families, according to the official Yemeni news agency.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf and Aden Authority for Development and Humanitarian Services, Fahd Al-Barri, explained that the camp, in which a selection of Yemeni and Egyptian consultant doctors are participating, aims to provide comprehensive medical services to patients with brain, nerve, and spinal cord conditions, including conducting 50 specialized brain surgeries for patients who will be examined during the days of the camp.

He pointed out that the camp received more than 200 patients on the first day and provided them with various medical services, and will continue to receive patients until the 10th of this month, provided that surgeries are performed for patients who need surgical intervention based on the doctors’ evaluation on the 15th of this month.
