The Yemeni government and the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed a bilateral agreement today, Saturday, for financial arrangements, the resumption of Kuwaiti development projects, and the rescheduling of outstanding arrears owed to the Fund.
According to the official news agency Saba, the agreement was signed by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Wa’ed Batheeb, and on behalf of the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Acting Director General of the Fund, Engineer Walid Shamlan Al-Bahr.
According to the agency: The agreement aims to relaunch Kuwaiti funding for development programs, alleviate the debt burden owed by the Republic of Yemen by rescheduling the repayment of overdue interest and installments, and help the government face the emergency economic and financial burdens exacerbated by the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil installations and international shipping lines.
