Morocco Expresses Readiness to Contribute to Any International Efforts to Help Yemen

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita expressed on Friday the Kingdom’s permanent readiness to contribute to any international efforts towards helping the legitimate Yemeni government to face the humanitarian needs of its people.

This came in a speech during a press conference with his Yemeni counterpart, Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, following the sixth session of the joint committee between the two countries, in Rabat, some of its details were reported by the official Moroccan news agency.

Bourita reiterated “the Kingdom’s firm position in its support for the Presidential Leadership Council as the legitimate authority in Yemen.”

He added that “a solution to the Yemeni crisis passes through a lasting political solution that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and is based on respect for the Security Council resolutions and the outcomes of the Yemeni national dialogue.”

Bourita stressed that any solution for Yemen “must respect the will of the Yemenis, especially the legitimate authorities in the country.”

He considered that regional and international parties should “help the Yemenis and not replace them in finding a solution to their problems.”

Bourita expressed Morocco’s permanent readiness to contribute to any international efforts towards helping the legitimate Yemeni government to face the humanitarian needs of its people.
