The President of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, Rashad Al-Alimi, sent a congratulatory message to Ahmad Al-Sharaa, congratulating him on his assumption of the presidency of Syria during the transitional phase.
The Yemeni president expressed his sincere congratulations to his Syrian counterpart, wishing him success and prosperity in his presidential duties, and for the Syrian people to achieve stability, peace, and development.
The Head of the Presidential Leadership Council commended the historical transformations taking place in Syria and the will of its people to build their state and shape a bright future. He expressed his hope for joint cooperation with the new leadership to advance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples towards broader horizons in various fields.
The new Syrian administration announced on Wednesday the appointment of Al-Sharaa as the country’s president during the transitional phase, as part of a series of extensive decisions that included dissolving all armed factions, in addition to the existing army and security forces from the previous regime, abolishing the constitution, and dissolving the People’s Council and the Ba’ath Party, which had ruled the country for decades.
