Yemeni Diplomat: Kuwait Remains at the Forefront of Alleviating Yemen’s Suffering

Yemeni Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Safa’a praised Kuwait’s stances towards his country, noting that Kuwait has always stood by Yemen and commending its historical and positive position in supporting Yemen at various junctures.
He described the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Shae’a Al-Zendani, as positive, and came at the invitation of Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya.
Bin Safa’a said in a statement to Al-Qabas newspaper that they were honored to meet His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, with the aim of briefing His Highness on the situation in Yemen, especially since he has been closely following events on the Yemeni arena.
He said: “Kuwait has always been and continues to be at the forefront of alleviating the suffering of our people and seeking ways to spare Yemen from destruction that only benefits the enemies of the nation, and the Kuwaiti leadership has expressed its readiness to provide everything that contributes to finding solutions to this long-standing Yemeni issue.”
He added, “A memorandum of understanding was also signed on political consultations between the two countries and on all issues of common interest, noting that it was agreed to activate the joint Yemeni-Kuwaiti committee.”
He continued, “A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Kuwaiti and Yemeni diplomatic institutes on the exchange of expertise in various fields of common interest, regarding training and the exchange of joint expertise.”
He pointed to a meeting between his country’s foreign minister and the accompanying delegation with the First Deputy Minister of Defense Sheikh Fahd Al-Youssef, and they discussed issues of common interest, training, and qualifying military institutions, as well as providing all means of support for Yemenis residing in Kuwait, noting that the strategic and historical cooperation between the two countries and that the viewpoints are identical.
He continued: “As part of his visit, the Yemeni Foreign Minister visited the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and discussed the Kuwaiti role in the development aspect of Yemen in various aspects of life.”
He announced that a lecture would be held today, Monday, at the diplomatic institute for heads of diplomatic missions, discussing the situation in Yemen and what Yemen has gone through over the past period, and presenting a clear picture of the legitimate government and the Arab coalition to resolve the issue.
He added: “We appreciate the efforts of Kuwait and the countries of the Arab coalition to restore stability to Yemen and bring a peaceful end to the crisis.”
