WHO Reports Over 260,000 Cholera Cases in Yemen in 2024

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Sunday that it had recorded more than 260,000 cases and 879 deaths from cholera in Yemen during 2024.
In a report, the WHO stated that “260,552 cases of cholera and 879 deaths related to the disease were reported in Yemen from January 1 to December 29, 2024.”
The report indicated that “the number of cases and deaths reported in December alone reached 10,502 new cases of cholera.”
It noted the recording of 16 deaths related to the disease across Yemen in December.
