Yemen and Oman Affirm Commitment to Strengthen Cooperation

General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Nu’mani, Minister of the Royal Office in Oman, and Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sha’e al-Zindani, discussed bilateral relations, bonds of friendship and partnership between the two countries, in addition to peace in Yemen.
This came during a meeting between the two on Wednesday in Muscat, on the sidelines of the Yemeni minister’s official visit to the Sultanate, according to the Omani News Agency.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts exerted by all parties to resolve it in a way that achieves security and stability for the Yemeni people.
In a related context, Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi and his Yemeni counterpart affirmed, during their meeting in Muscat today, the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries.
The two sides also stressed the keenness of the two countries to strengthen cooperation ties in various fields, serving the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
In the same context, Omani Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Saud al-Habsi discussed with the Yemeni Foreign Minister ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, and water resources.
This came during al-Habsi’s reception of al-Zindani at his office today, according to the Omani News Agency.
The meeting discussed investment opportunities and partnerships in food security projects and some issues related to the fisheries and livestock sectors.
Both sides affirmed the importance of exchanging expertise and best practices to enhance food security and sustainable development.
Oman plays a prominent role in the Yemeni crisis, due to its relations with the Houthis and the Yemeni government, and it also hosts the office of Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam in Muscat.
