The Houthi armed group announced on Friday that the US had carried out 5 airstrikes targeting Amran Governorate in northern Yemen.
The group’s Al-Masirah TV channel reported the news in a breaking news bulletin, saying: “A US aggression targeted Harf Sufyan district of Amran Governorate with 5 airstrikes,” without revealing further details about the casualties or damage resulting from the attacks.
Since November 2023, the Houthis have been attacking Israeli or Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, and have also been attacking targets in “Israel.”
In response, Washington and London began launching airstrikes on “Houthi sites” in Yemen since the beginning of 2024, to which the group responded by considering all US and British ships as military targets.
