Israel and US Coalition Launch Over 20 Airstrikes on Sana’a and Hodeidah

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:

Israeli media reported that more than 20 airstrikes targeted the Yemeni capital Sana’a and Hodeidah in a large-scale attack against targets belonging to the Houthi Ansar Allah group, carried out in coordination between the Israeli occupation and the US.

Israel’s Channel 14 said that 3 waves of strikes were carried out in close proximity and in different areas and on multiple targets, including underground sites, such as ballistic missile and drone warehouses.

An Israeli military spokesman said, “Among the targets that were attacked was  Haziz power station, which is used as a central electrical infrastructure used by the Houthis in their military activities. Infrastructure in the Ras Issa port and Hodeidah port in the western coastal area of Yemen was also attacked.”

Israel’s Channel 14 stated that the attack was planned as part of the Israeli approach towards the Houthis, adding that after the international coalition completed its strikes in Yemen, Israel began attacking its own targets.

The Israeli Army Radio said that the attack came shortly after the US-British attacks and in a coordinated manner.

Axios quoted a senior US official as saying that the attacks “were not a joint US-British-Israeli operation, but there was tactical coordination to avoid clashes, but each side attacked different targets.”

On the other side, Al Masirah channel, affiliated with the Houthis, confirmed that the airstrikes targeted  Haziz power station in Sana’a.

The channel stated that the airstrikes targeted the vicinity of Al-Sabaeen Square in the Yemeni capital, coinciding with a solidarity demonstration in support of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to an Israeli war of extermination for 462 days.

In a speech coinciding with the attack, the Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced “targeting a group of Israeli targets in the occupied Jaffa area with 3 drones, and carrying out military operations, including targeting a US aircraft carrier and its warships.”
