The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council announced on Tuesday a new package of measures to normalize the situation in Hadhramaut Governorate (eastern Yemen), which is witnessing a growing tribal movement against the internationally recognized government.

Among the measures included in the plan is “allocating the proceeds from the sale of crude oil stored in the Dabbah and Masila tanks to establish two new power plants in the coast and valley of Hadhramaut,” and supporting efforts aimed at unifying and mobilizing the people of Hadhramaut and all its components, and strengthening their just partnership in state structures and any future political entitlements commensurate with the status of Hadhramaut and its entitlements at all levels.
