Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate Renews Calls for Release of Al-Miyahi and Al-Arhabi
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate has called on the Houthis to release journalists Mohammed al-Miyahi and Fahad al-Arhabi.
In a statement issued on Monday, the syndicate renewed its condemnation of the arbitrary detention of the two journalists, who are being held in harsh and unsanitary conditions, and demanded their immediate release along with all other detainees.
The statement also highlighted the case of Wahid al-Sofi, who has been forcibly disappeared since April 2015 by the Houthis, and Nabil al-Sidawi, an employee of the Saba News Agency, whose release the group has refused despite a court ruling that he had served his sentence.
The syndicate also urged the Houthis to cease their policy of harassment and arbitrary detention of journalists and opinion makers, and to release all those abducted.
