US Navy Strikes Houthi Sites in Yemen with Tomahawk Missiles

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the US Navy launched Tomahawk missiles at Houthi weapons production and storage sites in Yemen last Tuesday.

Reports indicate that US forces used guided-missile destroyers from the Truman Carrier Strike Group, which was operating in the Red Sea at the time of the precise missile strikes.

On December 30th and 31st, CENTCOM also announced conducting multiple strikes on Houthi targets in Sana’a and coastal areas of Yemen.

At that time, they released footage of their warplanes taking off and launching two missiles from a warship towards Houthi targets.

Prior to this operation, the Houthis had announced the downing of a US MQ-9 Reaper drone valued at $32 million. They presented footage documenting the moment the drone entered Yemeni airspace over the northern province of Al-Bai’da.
