“Israel” Attacks “Guterres” After His Comments on Its Strikes in Yemen
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, described the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ perspective on Israel’s operations against the Houthis as “reprehensible.”
Danon said in an interview with the Jerusalem Post, “I always hope that something will change. I hoped that in this case he would be able to distinguish between black and white, between evil and good. But he has not been able to do so.”
He added that he was still shocked by the tweet Guterres posted a few days ago, in which he described the Israeli airstrikes in Yemen as “particularly concerning.”
On Tuesday, the Times quoted an Israeli security source saying that “Israel” is now fully engaged in a war with the Houthis, following a series of rocket attacks launched from Yemen targeting “Israel,” which were followed by Israeli and US strikes across various locations in Yemen, including Sana’a International Airport.
Israeli security sources revealed days ago that Tel Aviv is preparing to launch extensive military operations against the Houthis in Yemen that may last several weeks, with participation from the US and other countries, aiming to inflict damage on the group and its leadership, according to Israeli media.
The Houthi group has launched a series of rocket attacks on “Israel” in recent days, the latest of which was on Tuesday, when the military spokesperson for the Houthis, Yahya Saree, announced that their forces had targeted Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv and a power station south of occupied Jerusalem, while simultaneously targeting US aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.
