Israeli Minister Threatens Houthi Leader with ‘Nasrallah’s Fate’

Yemen Monitor/Al-Quds/Agencies’:

Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen threatened on Monday to assassinate the leader of the Houthis in Yemen, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, as regional tensions escalated due to Israel’s genocidal war on  Gaza Strip.

Cohen told the local Hebrew radio station 94FM, “I sent a message to the Houthi leader that if he continues his actions, he will end up just like [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar and [Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan] Nasrallah.”

Nasrallah was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese capital on September 27th. Israeli occupation forces killed Sinwar in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, on October 16th, coincidentally while he was confronting occupation forces.

Cohen said, “Our focus now is on Yemen and Iran. And it must be said that unless Iran is harmed, instability in the Middle East will continue.”

Last week, Israel launched airstrikes on Houthi-controlled sites in the capital Sana’a and the coastal province of Hodeidah, in response to Houthi drone and missile attacks.

The Houthis have targeted Israeli or Tel Aviv-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea with missiles and drones, in a show of support for the Gaza Strip, where over 45,500 people have been martyred in Israel’s genocidal war since October 7, 2023.
