Washington: It’s Time to Stop the Houthi Recklessness

Yemen Monitor/New York/Special Report:

On Monday, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations stated that the Houthi group must put an end to their reckless behavior by attacking ships in the Red Sea and launching attacks on Israel.

This was said by Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield during a Security Council session that discussed Houthi attacks on Israeli targets.

She added, “It is time for the Houthis to cease their reckless actions, and the international community must force them to do so.”

Greenfield accused the Houthis of engaging in piracy and conducting attacks from Yemen using advanced missiles and drones.

She stated, “It is essential that Israeli operations in Yemen are coordinated and do not threaten infrastructure.” Nevertheless, the US ambassador affirmed her country’s support for what she described as Israel’s right to defend itself and condemned the Houthi attacks.

She emphasized the need to halt Iran’s supply of weapons to the Houthis.
