Yemeni politicians and military officials in Taiz have asserted that the current circumstances present a golden opportunity to defeat Iran’s influence in Yemen. They emphasized that Yemenis have a chance to rid themselves of Houthi rule, restore their country, and reclaim their freedoms. They urged the resistance movement to seize this opportunity before it slips away.
Papers presented and discussions held at the weekly resistance forum in Taiz highlighted the fact that popular resistance is the sole means of liberating Yemen from the coup and saving the Yemeni people from the perils of Houthi enslavement. The goal is to restore the state and rebuild it in accordance with the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference.
A leading figure in the popular resistance, Saeed Sultan, argued in his paper that the current situation demands that resistance fighters study the circumstances to identify opportunities that can be exploited to benefit the national struggle. He stressed the need for unity at all levels: political, media, military, and ideological.
Meanwhile, Yemeni army colonel Saad Al-Yousefi emphasized the importance of preparedness, readiness, and continuous mobilization as key factors for victory. He called for unity in leadership and a shared belief in the justness of the cause.
Political leader Abdullah Hassan Khaled stated in his paper that the current military and political circumstances are favorable due to Iran’s defeats and the growing international and regional opposition to the Houthis. This provides an opportunity for Yemenis to oust the Houthis and restore their state and freedoms.
Khaled emphasized that popular resistance is the only viable option as it is independent of any agreements or policies that could jeopardize the nation. He stressed the need for unity in leadership, strategy, and media messaging.
The spokesperson for the Yemeni army in Taiz, Colonel Abdul Basit Al-Bahri, highlighted the importance of popular resistance in restoring the state and its institutions, combating the coup, and preserving Yemen’s identity and culture. He emphasized that resistance is a unifying factor for the Yemeni people and is essential for liberating the country from Houthi domination.
