Evacuation Of The Injured UN Staff Member By Israeli Airstrike On Sana’a Airport
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The head of the World Health Organization has said that one of his colleagues who was injured in deadly Israeli airstrikes on an airport in Yemen has been evacuated to Jordan.
The organization’s director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was at Sana’a airport waiting to board a flight when it came under Israeli attack.
The WHO said that one of the UN aircraft crew members was seriously injured in the attack and is recovering in hospital.
Ghebreyesus said on Friday that they have now been evacuated to Jordan, where they will receive further treatment.
He said they were in the Yemeni capital “to negotiate the release of our detained colleagues”.
He added: “Attacks on civilians and humanitarian workers must stop everywhere.”
