9 Israelis Injured in Stampede to Shelters
Yemen Monitor/Agencies:
Nine Israelis were injured in a stampede towards shelters in Tel Aviv early Wednesday morning after a missile was launched from Yemen, which the Israeli military claimed to have intercepted.
The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated in a statement: “For the second time in two days, air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile from Yemen early today before it penetrated Israeli airspace.”
It added: “Sirens sounded in many villages in the greater Tel Aviv area and the coastal plain, and nine people were injured while rushing to shelters.”
It revealed that “the political level is considering launching a new attack against Yemen,” which would be the fourth since the beginning of Israel’s war of annihilation in Gaza.”
It added: “The Israeli army has begun formulating plans on this matter.”
For its part, the Israeli army claimed in a statement that “a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted before it penetrated Israeli airspace. Sirens were activated in central Israel for fear of debris from the interception operation.”
In recent weeks, Houthi attacks with missiles and drones on Tel Aviv have escalated, amid sharp criticism from the Israeli opposition and former military commanders for the army’s failure to address Houthi attacks and the government’s inability to stop this threat.
