Netanyahu Threatens Houthis with More Attacks: They Will Learn “The Hard Way”
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Thursday to carry out more attacks on the Houthis in Yemen, indicating that they will learn “the hard way.”
This statement came after the Israeli air force targeted sites in the port of Hodeidah and in the capital Sana’a, which are under the control of the group.
In a video, Netanyahu affirmed that these strikes are a response to the repeated attacks carried out by the Houthis against civilian targets in “Israel.”
He added: “We have done this in response to the Houthi attacks targeting civilians in Israel. They are not only attacking us; they are threatening the entire world, including international shipping and trade routes.”
Netanyahu continued: “Israel is acting against the Houthis on behalf of the entire international community, and this is something that the Americans and others understand very well.”
He pointed out that the Houthis, whom he considers part of the “Iranian axis of evil,” will learn the lesson “the hard way” that the damage they inflict on “Israel” cannot go unanswered, emphasizing that anyone who attacks “Israel” will pay a heavy price.
He added: “After Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al-Assad regime in Syria, the Houthis have almost become the last remaining arm of this axis.”
Earlier, Houthi-affiliated media reported that 9 people were killed and 3 injured due to Israeli airstrikes targeting energy infrastructure in the capital Sana’a and ports in the coastal city of Hodeidah, which came in response to missile strikes that the Houthis claimed targeted Tel Aviv.
